Finding Job Positions

By Alex Wu

Job positions can be found almost anywhere. You can contact companies directly, search through job websites online, start browsing through the classifieds and more. It is important that you understand what the job positions entail before submitting an application as this can be off putting when a company receives a resume that has non of the required skills or experience.

Within each industry there are many different job positions available. A short list of some job positions found in the hospitality industry include care baristas, dish washers, bartenders, sauciers, banquet cooks, pastry bakers, back line cooks, fry/grill cooks, executive chefs, line chefs, dietary aides, room service waiters, car hops, food and beverage servers, waiters and waitresses, cocktail servers, banquet servers, travel positions, cleaning positions and accommodation positions. Each position may require a varying amount of experience and will have some training involved.

As with any year there will be popular jobs that have a high demand for employment. Some of the more popular jobs for the upcoming year include medical services, engineering services, green jobs, infrastructure, self employment, telecommuting, nursing jobs, computing services, education, energy positions, finance, and small businesses. Alternative energy, renewable energy and green jobs are all a new market for jobs that were once part of a small industry but that they are now expanding rapidly.

These green or environmental jobs are the newest marketplace to open up. In the future this type of job will be very important to maintaining as well as starting new companies. Large companies may even retain their own green expert. There are two types of positions most likely to be useful for green jobs; consulting and in-house positions. Many times companies will be trying to convert to more environment friendly production and functioning or just trying to promote their image by being environmentally conscious.

Education positions are not as effected as many other industries by recession as there is always the need form educators. Colleges and universities are always on the look out for qualified teachers and with the economic down turn m ore student are staying in school or entering graduate programs. Teachers are also needed for the younger school levels as well as at universities.

Another booming industry that is understaffed is the healthcare sector and as a nurse or med tech you will have your pick of jobs and salaries as there are never enough trained individuals to fill the many positions available. Instead of administration healthcare jobs will be focusing more on services and the delivery of services such as elderly care will be the most sought after job positions.

The technology industry is not slowing down and software engineer job positions are always available. These types of jobs can have the highest salaries and the number of positions will probably double over the next few years. However it should be noted that at some time this growth will slow down so you should try to get yourself into a good position now to weather any future storms. - 15246
