Kansas Craft Shows Here, There, Everywhere

By Baron Loper

Here in Kansas, it's a common thing to see people doing a variety of arts and crafts. Our daily routine is a slow and casual way of life, and it's a relief for most people to just sit back and loosen up once in a while, and engage in something creative. Most people I know in these parts keep busy with various hobbies in their spare time.

If you're in Kansas, then chances are good that you are aware of the different arts and crafts the people around you dabble in. Maybe your grandfather was known for fantastical making wooden sculptures while rocking away on his rocking chair. Maybe an aunt baked a storm up in the kitchen and produced pastries and other culinary delights whilst you were there sitting on the kitchen counter watching as cakes and muffins came out of the oven.

Maybe you were into crafts yourself? Something you probably did after you got home from school, or something that interested you later on in life. You'd probably have liked it so much to become a hobby. If that's the case, you might even have quite a collection in your house right now. Finished works and crafted pieces could be adorning your home like trophies. If that is so, then I'd suggest thinking about attending one of the numerous craft fairs held in Kansas. You could get a booth and show off your crafts to a larger number of people.

But how do you join these craft shows? In the past, craft shows were promoted via flyers and posters, and an aspiring craftsperson would have to look hard and often to find decent events in her area. Thankfully, that is no longer the case, as there are now places on the Internet where these events are catalogued. It is now simply a matter of getting their contact numbers from these sites.

So, what are you waiting for? Stop staring blankly on the monitor and join one of the many craft shows in Kansas today! Your works deserve to be shown to the world, and not kept as trophies. - 15246
