Finding Good Joint Venture Partners on Article Directories

By Stu McLaren

I was asked a great question the other day that I just had to share with you. Here is how it went; "I am looking to setup joint venture partnerships with people that I found off of article directories. There are such a wide variety of people on there. How do I know which of those people are worth pursuing?" Within this article is my response to that person.

You are right. There are a wide variety of people on articles directories, and the key there is you are going to want to develop your own filtering system to decide who you want to work with and who you do not. Generally, here are a couple of things that I like to look for. Number one Am I getting a good vibe from it the person's message. Are they in it for the long haul?

I like to do business with people who are interested in long-term relationships. I am not a quick fix guy. I do not like a relationship where we are together for one short period and then that is it. I am always looking for that. I am looking to see if they have created partnerships or done projects together with other people in the past? If they have, then I would even go as far as contacting some of those people.

For example, recently a very well-known marketer contacted us to do affiliate management for them. One of the first things that I did was I contacted somebody else I knew they worked with and had done work with them in the past and said, "What was your experience like?" And that was eye opening. I learned a lot by asking that question.

In addition to past experience, another importan filtering criterion is how your potential partners market to their customers. Join their list and you will learn the answer. You will also learn how they communicate with their subscribers. Joining their list will send you vibes, so you will know how you feel about them - do you like them or not.

Another suggestion I can give is to become a customer of the people you are interested in. I guess this might be an extra mile to go but it will give you hands-on experience about the way they treat their customers.

A good way to see a potential JV's conversion is to join their affiliate program because you can see exactly how many people you send to their website and how many people buy. So you could see if it is a good selling product just by becoming an affiliate of them and then marketing their own product. - 15246
