Prior to Starting at Delaware Craft Fairs

By Maude Zachery

It is sometimes hard to relax in this day and age. We are plagued by the curse of efficiency, and it shuts us into a world of repetitive tasks. It could really feel depressing at times.

I am sure you have felt this way at one point in your life, so I suggest that doing something more relaxing will do you a world of wonder. While you were a child growing up, is there a particular something you liked to do?

Perhaps you wanted to be a painter at one time. You wanted to capture the world into the strokes of your paintbrush, and marvel at the piece you would end up doing. Or maybe you have had a passion for turning other's trash into your treasure. You may have had a knack for using these trinkets to create something more marvelous. Indeed, you probably were a very good talent in the kitchen.

Don't give me that look. Of course you have talent. Everybody has them; it's just most likely dulled by the repetitiveness of working life from time to time. So if you haven't practiced whatever it is that you feel you can be good at, then change it! Only practice will improve that forgotten skill. What's there to lose, right? It's not like you'll show it to other people.

However, once you get the hang of it, you eventually will get the desire to. You'll want to show people your stunning crafted works; as people are either their own worst critics or their very own number one fan. Once you've started thinking you've created a masterpiece worthy of praise, it's time to test the waters and find another set of eyes. The same goes if you find that you've created a horrible mess. A second opinion never hurts. - 15246
