By Alex Wu

Times are tough and every business is looking for an edge. You have to try to get your name out there as much as possible, but unfortunately all that advertising usually costs a good bit of money. You will be glad to know that there are options available to promote your business even when you do not have bottomless pockets. You can use free ads in various ways to get your Google rank up there and to start to generate business.

Free ads are all over the place, but you do want to be careful to make sure you choose the right ones. There are some big name sites like Craig's List that you know you can trust, but there are some sites out there that are merely there to get your information. A little research on the web and you will be able to which ones are for real and which ones are scams.

Before you open up your account at a free ad site, you are going to want to make sure that you can post your contact information or another website in your listing without having to pay for it. This is key as most of these sites will charge you an upgrade fee for this privilege. If you cannot get it for fee, find another site as there are enough of them out there that will allow you to do just that.

Now if you do not have an operable website, you either need to get one of start some blogs up that you can use as your main hub of information. The ads will generally only allow you so many characters and you may not be able to fully describe your business or service on there so get a blog going.

Sites like WordPress and Blogger are totally free and will walk you through the set up. Don't just create one though, set up as many as you can where you can have a different topic that relates to your business. The more blogs you can create, the better as you will have a link going back to your site on each one of them. These are backlinks that the search engines pick up on and that will give you a higher Google rank.

For example, let's say you are selling baseball cards. You can have one blog about hot cards, one about the value of cards and how they rise and fall, one could even be a daily entry into your search for the ultimate card. This is not rocket science, just get sites up that will point people towards your site.

Designing your ad is easy. Make sure you have your company name, website information and email on there. Give a brief description of the site and any pricing that you can that will not change. As these ads are already well integrated into the search engines, you will fly up Google ranks as long as you use the right key words and phrases in your ad.

Once you have all of this done, you will be amazed at how quickly your Google rank increases. You see, all of these sites have so many links already set up, that when you have an ad on there and you have the right key words and phrases being utilized, Google will pick right up on that and throw you to the front of the list. Now you just promoted your site with free ads and blogs and it did not cost you a single penny! - 15246
